Why Patience is Important

"Inner peace is impossible without patience. Wisdom requires patience. Spiritual growth implies the mastery of patience. Patience allows the unfolding of destiny to proceed at its won unhurried pace." - the Masters, as transcribed by Brian Weiss, Many Lives, Many Masters
"Patience, patience, patience - be here NOW. You need not worry about the future, nurture the seeds you are planting NOW."
I keep hearing those words when I'm sitting in contemplation and my mind starts to flip forward to many different iterations of what my life will look like in the future. "But when will I...?"

While we get flashes of insight, sparks of creativity or synchronicities (like meeting someone totally aligned with our vision) to guide us in the direction of our purpose, we're not allowed to know how the story unfolds. We can't flip to the last chapter. Rather, we are given the knowledge and understanding we need in this moment to carry forward - no more and no less.

If we're committed to our growth, it's easy to want to get to the next level of understanding, of knowing and of knowledge, but we can't. This quote from Many Lives Many Masters struck me because it was so true. True wisdom takes patience. True patience IS spiritual wisdom - knowing that true wisdom is truly gleaned from experience.

I know what purpose is - at least right now - and what I struggle with is just to allow it to unfold day by day without trying to hurry it - the journey is the whole point!

You can't force a flower to blossom any more than you can force your life to unfold your destiny. Instead, kick up your feet, lift your head back, and allow yourself to move with the flow of the unique river of your life. Everything in time, my friends.
